About EG
Well, we can go on for days about ourselves. But here's something a bit different:
We would like to turn this web page over to our fans. If you have something to say about who the EG's are and what they mean to you, or a short EG anecdote or a simple word of wisdom, please mail it to us at eg@electricgypsies.com. Also let us know if you'd like to remain anonymous. Be creative, but honest. By now you folks probably know more about who we are than we do. We would love to see the "about" page grow into something that is special to us, our fans and even innocent web surfers. Thanks for sharing!
Name Dropping...
Our former members seem to do pretty well; one of the best ways to make a name for yourself is apparently to quit the band. Seriously, we are proud to have had a number of really talented guys play with us over the years and we are proud to say that we are still great friends with almost everyone. Not to put anyone on the spot, but former Gypsies have gone on to play with killer label acts like Sons Of The Desert, Whitesnake, Iron Butterfly and Los Lobotomys.
The Gypsies have put in lots of hours in opening slots at venues from small clubs to arenas. These are just a few of the acts EG's have had the privilege of opening for.
- Collective Soul
- Ian Moore
- Foghat
- Lynyrd Skynyrd
- BTO
- Three Dog Night
- Paul Rodgers
- Beef Jerky
- Joe Ely
- The Planets
Legacy
Electric Gypsies believe in community awareness and support of charitable organizations. We have worked with a number of these - most visibly the American Cancer Society and Toys for Tots stuff that has been very public. Some of the most memorable experiences we have have been in the light of giving. Our lives have all been touched by tragedy, illness and fear, so it makes sense for us to be proactive in working with organizations that shape humanity. We are always looking for ways to help out. If you have a cause you feel would be a good fit for our support, please contact us with details.
